Hertfordshire County Council will use the data you provide for the sole purpose of making your appointment with the Registration Service. Your personal details will be retained for a maximum of 2 years and will not be passed to any other parties or used for any other purpose.

 

Please ensure you have booked your venue before making an appointment to give Notice of Marriage. For register offices and approved venues you must have a provisional booking for the registrars to attend your ceremony. To make your provisional booking please contact the Hertfordshire Registration service on 0300 123 4045.

Please do not book an appointment to give notice more than twelve months prior to the ceremony.

Please bring the correct documentation to your appointment. Find the list of documents you will need to give notice.

Please note that you will be charged £42 per person giving notice at the end of this process. If your notice is required to be referred to the Home Office there will be an additional £15 charge per person at your appointment.

Please note if you are not a British or Irish national you must bring evidence of your current immigration status to the appointment (for example your visa). If you are from the EU, EEA or have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme you will need to bring confirmation of your status. You can obtain your share code from the ‘view and prove your immigration status’ service (the code will be valid for 30 days – Please generate this before the appointment). You must each bring a passport size photo.
