Birth Booking Questions

Please be aware of the following guidance –

All  visitors are required to wear a face covering when attending a register office appointment as per government guidance https://www.gov.uk/guidance/31-july-announcement#face-coverings

  • Do not attend if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19.

  • During this time, only the necessary informants can attend any registration appointments. For parents who are married or in a civil partnership, only one parent should attend. For non-married/civil partnered parents, both should attend (if the father’s/second parent’s details are to be included).

  • We would advise that the baby or other children do not attend the appointment unless alternative childcare is unavailable.

  • Customers will be required to wash their hands or use hand sanitiser on arrival.

  • Customers will be required to observe the 2 metre social distancing rules at all times.

  • For your protection, screens have been fitted in each interview room and the Registration Officer will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment during the appointment.

  • Once the birth has been registered certificates can be ordered online and be delivered to your address. The registrar will send an email with the details of how to apply once the birth has been registered.
